With just 20 runs scored in the series decider on Wednesday, Virat Kohli brought the Sri Lankan tour to an unsatisfactory conclusion. As he persisted in battling spin, Kohli fell prey to Dunith Wellalage. In all three games, the senior star was trapped in front of the wicket and scored a run of poor scores (24, 14, 20).

While batting in the third One-Day International, Kohli also got into a verbal argument with Asitha Fernando, a bowler for Sri Lanka.

In pursuit of the 249-run mark, Kohli began his innings with a fortunate boundary off an edge from Fernando’s delivery. When Fernando made a comment to him about following through, he defended the third ball. In response, Kohli charged towards Fernando at the non-striker end, where Rohit Sharma was standing, and gave him a mouthful.

But following the game, everything was good between the two cricket players. Fernando and Kohli were seen swaying back and forth and grinning.

Kohli’s battles with spinners went on in the interim. In the twenty-fourth over, Wellalage trapped the former captain of India in front. He got plumb from not being able to read the arm-ball. In a last-ditch effort to keep his wicket, he also chose DRS, but as soon as he saw the replay on the enormous screen, he began to head back to the dressing room.
